Sphere3® is one of Gartner’s Cool Vendors for 2015.
What does it mean to be a Cool Vendor? It means that Gartner Analysts, after reviewing hundreds of potential companies, identified that we have more than just something special. They identified that Aperum® is impactful and forward thinking, and our product can influence the way healthcare is provided. That last part made me take a deep breath…influence the way healthcare is provided in years to come.
Six years ago in that hospital room in Kansas when the brain child of Sphere3® was launched from a patient experience….. I wanted to change the world….to make things better….to build something meaningful……Our vision that has been made a reality. We are thankful that Gartner recognized our vision and are humbled to be considered as impactful to the way care is delivered.
Gartner considers Aperum® part of the phenomenon called The Real Time Health System. The ability to take dispirit technologies and create impactful visualizations and engagements to create understanding towards workloads, quality, and perception. The concept is beyond “disruptive” – it disrupts are companies who think data should be contained to some retrospective report….the 1990s called they want their PDF back…our faster than life data driven now lifestyles have catapulted us beyond that piece of paper – it necessitate tools that allow people to engagement with data naturally at the point of care.
We have worked with several hospitals who have been able to take data from systems, sensors, and monitors to the point of care and create meaningful change. Sometimes this change is in their technology and how it’s applied, sometimes the change is in their process and how things are done, sometimes this change is in policy and how directives have impacted care, and sometimes the change must go straight to culture. (We are going to explore those topics more in the coming weeks)
When I started Sphere3 one of my friends said “You know 80% of Small Businesses fail in the first 5 years….” A gentle warning that great ideas sometimes never take hold, especially in markets where competitive forces are companies who bring in billions. Well, we made it past the first 5 years and people are starting to see data differently today. According to Gartner, people will continue to desire more effective ways to consume it.
