4th Annual STEMMy Awards Hosted by Central Exchange
On September 21, 2017 hundreds of leaders and professionals in the Kansas City region will come together to celebrate women who are making a difference in the areas of STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math and Medicine) at the 4th Annual STEMMy Awards Luncheon. Hosted by Central Exchange WiSTEMM (Women in STEMM), a group founded to be the leader in connecting, inspiring, and supporting the professional development of women in STEMM careers. At this critical time when there is a significant gender gap within STEMM careers, WiSTEMM inspires women to lead within their organizations and industries.
Seven industry leaders and professionals, nominated and chosen by their peers, will be awarded in the following areas: Groundbreaking Leadership, Rising Trendsetter, Enterprising Innovator, WiSTEMM Educator, WiSTEMM student Achiever and Corporate Hero.
Leading the effort are Renee Keffer and Cindy Schmitt, event chairs and long-time WiSTEMM members. Honorary chairs are Maria Mann, Chief Information Officer at DST, and Dr. Michelle Robin, Chief Wellness Officer at Your Wellness Connection. This dynamic foursome is blazing a trail for women in STEMM careers in Kansas City. Elizabeth Alex, Public Relations and Outreach Manager at Kansas City University of Medical Bioscience, will emcee the event.
Renee Keffer, event chair for the 4th Annual STEMMy’s Awards Luncheon recently said “Being a part of an incredible group of women STEMM leaders is especially important to me. In my career in the technology field, I would not have had the successes I had if it weren’t for other women who championed for me and supported me in my career. It’s an honor to be a part of this group and to help other women, regardless of what stage they are in their career.”
Sponsors and benefactors are invited to a Benefactors Breakfast on September 7 for networking and a panel discussion with our Honorary Chairs.
